Finding Strength in Creativity
As a kid, I loved being creative. I enjoyed turning everyday things like toilet paper rolls, wood bits, shells, beads, and stones into imaginative art that showed my lively spirit. My dad's toolbox was like a treasure chest to me, just like a toy box is for most kids.
But in 2007, my life changed when I survived a terrible attack. To cope, I turned to art. Through detailed designs and careful craft, I found a safe place to free my mind from the trauma I'd been through. Creating art helped me heal.
One of my favorite creations is a teal blue survivor ribbon tattoo on my wrist. It's a strong symbol of resilience, reminding me of my unshakable strength and pushing me to find and embrace the beauty in life. Through my art, I find comfort and share the beauty I discover with others.
After facing tough times, I've used creativity to navigate the storms that once threatened to overwhelm me. Like an artist perfecting a masterpiece, I keep finding bits of joy and hope from my experiences, inspiring others to embrace life's magnificence through my art.
